As promissed Apple did update today the iTunes connect application. Actually previosly they just did mention that no more binary web uploads will be accepted, but to my surprise iTunes Connect received a bigger and nicer update. Accidently at the very same moment they did the update I was uploading an application binary
So what’s new?
- You are now able to delete applications you don’t need anymore – yes, finally a Delete application button which helps to de-clutter your Manage applications screen
- The products are now organized by bundle identifier – that means if you have version 1.0 online and version 1.2 is waiting for approval you don’t have anymore 2 separate applications, but they are grouped neatly together
- New screen for the Application details – much more organized, and finally you can see the screenshots you uploaded
- All in all the interface resembles a lot of MobileMe, which is great – more consistent button styles, and clearer headings – very nice
- There are now different types of buttons – big nice ones for saving and navigating and secondary much smaller buttons for edit, reject binary and so on
- Integration of pop over windows – edit application information for example pops up in a modal window, much like you are used with desktop software
That’s the most important improvements I’ve seen up to now, did you find something else interesting?
What I still miss is promo codes for other stores aside from the US store, there are so many review sites outside US that I still think it’s very strange I can’t get promo codes for them.
All in all – amazing update, I think everyone will be very satisfied with the improvements. Want to discuss more? Get in touch with me in twitter
P.S. Oh yes, another big deal is that now you have a search form in the Manage applications screen – very handy to filter the list of your applications, but also the big thing is that you can actually see all the 16 different states your application could be in!
