Pimpy for iPhone is out now!

After many months of work finally Pimpy and Pimpy LITE are available today in the iTunes App Store!

I can’t really sum up everything that happened since the development started in the end of January 2010, it took us some 6 and a half months to create concepts, design, develop, rewrite, switch from Facebook Rest to Graph, get everything together, argue with the App review team about banned APIs … it’s been a wild ride. But Pimpy is finally out  and we are very happy.

Personally for me it’s been an invaluable experience – I’ve invested hundreds of hours digging trough forums, reading and experimenting and finally I think we have a quite polished product. So let me very quickly introduce Pimpy to you.

Pimpy is an application using which you can easily import photos from Facebook, your photo albums or create shots using your iPhone camera and add various “stamps” to the photos. Pimpy offers 3 different photo frames packs as a start, and 12 other packs with many different stamps for you to play with. The stamps are custom images drawn by the artist Kunstdrom; during the last half a year he created more than 500+ images and he’s working on the lineup of content for the coming major holidays – Halloween, Chrstmas, New Year, etc.

The users can easily add from a big collection of glasses, hairstyles, noses, smiles. The girls can easily try how would they look with a long blond hair, or short and dark – it’s easy.

In addition photos are easy to import from Facebook, work on and then publish back to the user’s Facebook album or to share on the Pimpy Facebook page.

Many of the articles here on TCM are inspired from the problems I had during the Pimpy development. And there’s a lineup of topics to write about which as well are things that made me an impression during developing Pimpy. The codebase of the application is now more than 30,000 lines!

So, too much words for something that the video will demonstrate very easy: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e8yfhf7cywA&feature=player_embedded
