Tutorial: Building iPhone games with Unity3D

For the ones who haven’t heard about Unity3D – this is a 3D software for building games, which runs on absolute coolness; it’s flexible, easy to pick up, yet powerful editor / 3D engine, which creates game binaries for iOS, PC, Mac, Wii and more. If you are an indie game developer this is definitely the software for you with its super-low price tag of 400$ for the iOS enabled version!

How to make a 2.5D game with Unity tutorial series

I’ve been a member of Ray’s iOS Tutorial team for few months now and I proudly present my latest contribution the “How to make a 2.5D game with Unity” series. I wrote 2 tutorials for absolute Unity beginners introducing the readers to:

  • the Unity3D editor layout and basic interaction
  • setting up a scene in 3D space
  • working with 3D models
  • programming for Unity3D in C# (using MonoDevelop)
  • adding music/audio effects
  • adding particle systems
  • creating 2D and 3D games with Unity

So if creating 2.5D/ 3D games for iPhone sounds fun, let me just add that to go trough the tutorials you don’t need any experience in 3D, you don’t need previous knowledge of C# and you can use the 30 day trial of Unity to play around with it!

I wish you loads of fun and here are the links:

Hey Moosc, I was looking into it long time ago and I discarded it for some reason which I don’t remember anymore … the site looks cool though, maybe I’ll check it out again :)
